BCBA Supervision and Leadership

ABA Technologies offers three course sequences designed to help BCBAs develop and enhance their supervisory and leadership skills, offering the option of purchasing the existing, off-the shelf modules or customizing some or all of the content. 

Existing Courses

Introductory Supervision Course 

Our comprehensive supervision training prepares practicing behavior analysts to supervise BCBA, BCaBA, and RBT certificants and candidates with skill and insight. Expert instructors introduce evidence-based tools and techniques and address ethical and cultural considerations to provide a 360-degree view of the supervisor’s role and responsibilities. 

Meets all requirements of BACB’s Supervisor Curriculum Training Outline 2.0 

Total hours: 8.5–10 hours (depending on which version of the training)
Total CEs: 10–13 BACB credits

Exceptional Supervisor

The Exceptional Supervisor course teaches core leadership competencies to those navigating the challenges common in today’s workplace:
    •    Communicating with purpose
    •    Mastering delegation 
    •    Everyday project management
    •    Bridging the generational divide 
    •    Developing your people for success 
    •    Embracing and encouraging change
    •    The art and science of decision-making 

Each competency is approached through a behavioral lens, making behavior-change techniques practical and accessible to every leader.

Total Time: Approximately 7.5 hours

Total Credits: 7.5 BACB CEs, 3 of which can be used for supervision 

Dynamic Supervisor

Effective supervision is a skill that takes quality training to develop. Go above and beyond the minimum BACB Supervision requirements and engage your team in our Dynamic Supervisor course built by top experts in behavior analysis to transform the next generation of supervisors. Through video lessons, fluency trainings, immersive activities and more, Dynamic Supervisor teaches: 

  • How to self-assess, self-manage, embrace who you are as a supervisor, and grow
  • How to connect with your supervisees, recognize their unique strengths, and communicate effectively
  • How to ensure your supervisees deliver high-quality services
  • How to support your supervisees and model ethical behavior
  • Cultural responsiveness, wellness, and more!

Clinical Leadership

Our clinical leadership course targets the skills unique to BCBAs in leadership positions such as clinical/regional directors. These include:

Providing clinical and professional feedback

  • Clinical problem-solving
  • Monitoring supervisory, billable, and other requirements
  • Conducting clinical audits

Total Time: Approximately 6 hours 
Total Credits: Approximately 7–8 BACB CEs
