General Description
The Academic Product Development Manager oversees and enhances instructional quality, course development, and program improvements. This role is divided into two primary areas: Program Support and Product Development. This position collaborates with instructors, curriculum developers, product owners, and leadership to ensure course content is engaging, up-to-date, and aligned with best practices in behavior analysis education.
Minimum Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field, Ph.D. preferred
• 5+ years of experience teaching behavior analysis
• Expertise in behavior analysis, including a strong understanding of:
• Core concepts and principles of behavior analysis
• Applications, research, and current best practices in the field
• Experience developing and teaching behavior analytic content and assessments
• Basic knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles (e.g., Bloom’s Taxonomy)
• Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and course authoring tools (preferred)
• Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and educational program management
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills
• Proficiency in data analysis
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively
• BCBA certification preferred (or relevant expertise in behavior analysis or Organizational Behavior Management (OBM))
Duties and Responsibilities
• Design, develop, review, and continuously enhance course materials, instructional content, assessments, and practical application exercises to ensure accuracy, learner engagement, and alignment with the latest industry standards and best practices.
• Oversee and support content contributors, ensuring instructional clarity, technical accuracy, and a cohesive learning experience across all materials.
• Assess courses and curriculum to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements using learner feedback, performance analytics, and emerging industry trends.
• Conduct item analyses of assessments, revising or replacing problematic questions to maintain validity, reliability, and alignment with learning objectives.
• Collaborate with project managers to establish timelines, coordinate tasks, and implement effective tools for tracking course development progress.
• Identify opportunities for new products or content updates that address market needs and support ABA Tech’s strategic objectives.
• Actively participate in curriculum design, revision, and development, contributing expertise to create high-quality instructional materials and assessments.
• Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of courses by assisting support staff with content-related inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) and lead for one or more courses, providing leadership and ensuring ongoing quality and relevance throughout the course lifecycle.
Program Support & Instructor Development
• Assist academic partners in recruiting and selecting new instructors by participating in interviews, mock teaching sessions, and evaluations.
• Mentor and support new instructors and those needing improvement by reviewing materials, observing online meetings, providing feedback, and answering questions.
• Deliver training for both new and existing instructors in collaboration with academic partners.
• Evaluate and improve instructional materials to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
• Serve as a liaison between ABA Tech and academic partners, encouraging collaboration on curriculum development and instructional strategies.
