Abstract
Amoy Kito-Hugh, Anita Li, and Shahla Ala'i-Rosales will look at various topics related to continual learning. They will explore an action and reflection cycle that begins with intentional learning, transitions into mindful action, thrives in a community of practice, and fosters personal transformation, continuously renewing the process. Dr. Kito-Hugh will discuss a functional analysis of inequality and examine systemic oppression by analyzing contextual variables, including consent, historical context, problem definition, reinforcement patterns, and intervention strategies, with ongoing assessment to ensure meaningful change. They will explore the methods to assess levels of activism and gauge readiness to engage in equitable and inclusive responses. Lastly, they will provide reactions and reflections on scholarly works and other media based on what they think they know, what they actually know, what they want to know, and what they have learned.
