Effectively planning and leading meetings are beneficial for the success of employees and the company alike. Research has shown that productive meetings can have a significant return on investment for a company; however, few have received instruction on how best to plan or lead meetings. With the high levels of time employees spend in meetings, it is crucial this time is utilized in the most effective manner.

This episode focuses on the fact that effective supervisory relationships are built on bi-directional collaborative efforts on the part of the supervisor and the supervisee. There are risks for supervisee, supervisor, clients, and the field as a whole if there is no collaborative effort and the two parties do not each feel respected, valued, and acknowledged. The podcast describes strategies for setting expectations for the relationship from the outset and for establishing collaborative goals for supervision. The importance of bi-directional feedback is explored and strategies for creating a committed and healthy learning context are reviewed.

Today we are joined by Dr. Doug Greer, Dr. Jessica Dudek, & Dr. Daniel Fienup from Teachers College Columbia University and CABAS. This is one of the oldest programs in the country and has developed into a very unique program. To quote Dr. Doug Greer, "We’re sort of like Indiana Jones. We want to get our whip, hat, and go out there and deal with it, but we don't use whips."
