Today we are joined by Dr. Doug Greer, Dr. Jessica Dudek, & Dr. Daniel Fienup from Teachers College Columbia University and CABAS. This is one of the oldest programs in the country and has developed into a very unique program. To quote Dr. Doug Greer, "We’re sort of like Indiana Jones. We want to get our whip, hat, and go out there and deal with it, but we don't use whips."

As Karin Torsiello says, anger and aggression are to be expected in clinical practice and so it is important to learn and address these behaviors in the foster care population. Karin Torsiello discusses the expression of anger and aggression in children, where this may originate, the influence of trauma, and how to treat and manage anger and aggression. This presentation ends by offering tools and activities for providers to use or give to guardians of children to assist in managing anger and aggression. 

While ABA is often talked about with early intervention, it is crucial to discuss and know how to work with adult individuals with developmental disabilities. Dr. Gerhardt describes the selection of target behaviors that may be most valuable to adult clients and how to effectively implement these adaptive interventions. He then discusses the conditions which promote the generalizability of said skills and ethical considerations when working with adults.
