Applied Behavior Analysis is more than just a bag of tricks known as Discrete Trial Training, the VB-MAPP, and token systems. However, when we begin to conceptualize our science as such, we lose the fundamentals upon which we found them. We rely too heavily on them in practice, and we fail to individualize our services.

Melbourne, FL: ABA Technologies, Inc., in partnership with Florida Institute of Technology, is pleased to announce the launch of a new, entirely Spanish online RBT® (Registered Behavior Technician®) training: Esenciales RBT®: Entrenamiento del Técnico de Conducta Registrado® (BEHP1209). This course includes all 40 hours of training required by the BACB® in order to pursue the RBT® credential. In this training, students have the opportunity to practice skills specified on the RBT® Task List as well as elements of the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code.

ABA Technologies introduces a new OBM Specialist Certificate, incorporating several years of feedback from previous versions of the certificate. Students receive the OBM Specialist Toolkit and practice applying the material by following a case study and working through a simulated OBM project. The program is designed to better prepare individuals to apply OBM methods and tools to projects of their own.

Behavior analysis today gets most of its mainstream recognition for the work being done in applied settings, referred to as applied behavior analysis (ABA). The progress of behavior analytic applications has been important for the dissemination of the science and even better for the clients across the world who require behavioral services.

Performance involves all of the different behaviors that employees engage in. Behaviors that contribute to increases in sales, higher customer satisfaction, and higher quality products and services are the building blocks of business results. PM focuses on increasing these critical behaviors by systematically arranging the workplace to maximize productivity.

Every behavior analyst (hopefully) has learned that ours is a science of behavior. We do not learn that ours is a science of the individual or a science of the person. Why is that? Are we not, however, concerned with people, you may ask? Are we not concerned with the human condition? Are we not humanists?

Some children from an early age appear to know the direction they wish to take and set out to make it happen. Others are less focused and may indeed engage in reinforcer sampling. Both groups of children need parental encouragement and support.
