As laws change and technology progresses, the behaviors we engage in becoming more difficult to classify as either ethical or unethical. What may be legal in some states and not in others makes it difficult to follow certain ethical guidelines.
In the same way that clinicians continually evaluate the outcomes of clinical services, supervisors must engage in active, ongoing evaluation of the effects of their supervisory practices to determine what is going well and what needs to be improved.

Many applied behavior analysts find themselves in a different world from that in which they were trained. Most are trained by other behavior analysts in programs or even departments where the principal worldview is that of behavior analysis.
